viiki30 4 Posted June 23, 2013 I just started purée stage 3 days ago and I don't ever really get a feeling like I am so full but I get a feeling like something stuck in my throat and then I vomit a little bit But it doesn't feel like fullness just like something gets stuck in my throat Will I get a full feeling when u start whole food or just weird feeling something stuck? I hope I eventually get a feeling of fullness I think the feeling of something stuck my throat is from eating purée too fast
mparkersmith 72 Posted June 23, 2013 I just posted about this on another thread, because today was my first day of soft foods, and I definitely felt full! liquids and puréed foods never gave me this full feeling. I ate about 1 oz. of poached salmon, and a little under 1/4 cup mashed cauliflower/potatoes. Full, full, full! The Protein made all the difference, because I'd had mashed potatoes a couple of times during my puréed week. Hang in there!

I hope I eventually get a feeling of fullness I think the feeling of something stuck my throat is from eating purée too fast I'm at 6 months post-op and that "stuck" feeling is the only sense of fullness I ever feel. The old feeling of a satisfied stretched stomach where I sit back and say, "Oh, I'm so full" has not returned. And I don't care if it does. I've learned to eat slowly between bites and have a pretty good sense of how much I can eat before "one bite too many". I've had a few of those and don't like'em - No sir! I don't! It just took practice and careful eating habits to teach myself this new way of eating. Keep Pimpin' that Sleeve! 1 TES reacted to this
mparkersmith 72 Posted June 23, 2013 Viki30, it's only been 3 weeks out for me. Since I just started the soft foods stage, I didn't purée the salmon, just ate tiny bites and chewed the heck out of it. It was poached, so it was super soft and moist. My cauliflower/potatoes were puréed, though.
