Mio or Crystal light liquid- one of them has Splenda I believe. Hot or cold tea also counts for Water. Try varying the temperature of your beverage as well. I can drink more when beverages are room temp vs. iced. Try milk, cow's milk will count towards your Fluid goal and give a little Protein. If you don't like that, soy and almond milks are an ok option as they are mostly water.

I love Diet Green Tea Snapple (they have it in those powder packets). I can't stand Water alone anymore for some reason. Also Crystal Light has a pomegrante flavor (pomegrante cherry maybe) that doesn't taste "diet" at all.

One thing about the artifical sweeteners I always hated them and was dreading that part of this process but now I am eight months out and when I have something with "real" sugar now it is way too sweet. The sugar substitutes taste normal to me. The other day I had a Dove chocolate ice cream bar and thought I would go into a diabetic shock it was so sweet. LOL So perhaps if you give it a try you may be able to tolerate the sugar substitutes a bit more as you go along.

scared of regaining the weight

hewalkswithme

hi there

concentrate on today

we can't change the past - its over and done with

we can/must work hard on the present - doing our weight "thing" and all other good "stuff" :)

it's too early to worry about what "might" happen in the future

the future is "out there" - but don't dwell on gaining the weight back til you lose it first

worrying a "bit" can be helpful, in the fact that you stay diligent to your eating, drinking (works for me)

AFTER most/many people reach goal (me, me) there is the concern/fear about gaining weight back

the ONLY way this can ever happen - is we forget/ignore all we've learned through out this process

but i know you have a good memory ;)

I'm lucky for the fact that i do like Water - and am able to drink my 64 oz

can't really add to OP's good suggestions on what to drink

but...........i will say you need to drink more - some how!!!!

i get that it is hard for you

but you must come to some sort of "agreement" with yourself about a drink - or FORCE yourself to drink H20

i know this is easier said than done

but we all or should know that Water is essential to our life

truth is, all "normal" ;) people should drink lots and lots of water

hope you can solve your situation about the water, liquids

congrats on losing 30 lbs

good luck with your continued weight loss :)

kathy

Hot Decaf green tea goes down really easy for me. I add Splenda with Fiber.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
