Wow since October' date=' It's only been a few weeks for me and I feel like it's taking forever. Once you make up your mind you just want to get it done! I keep hearing about peer to peer reviews. Is this when your doctor meets with other doctors or what? When I did my sleep study last week I felt like I didn't sleep a wink and kept waking up but they said they got enough data. They didn't put a cPAP on me in the middle of the night so I don't know if this means I don't have sleep apnea or what. Did they put one on you during the night? Only a couple more weeks! How exciting, Who knows we could be getting the sleeve right around the same time. I will keep you updated. Thanks for sharing![/quote']

They didn't put one on me but mine was a two night thing. The second night they tried but I kept pulling it off. Since they called me after my insurance changed it has taken 3 months and then I had to schedule it almost 2 months out from my approval because of my job. So the second time around it seems like time has gone by real fast! I still have to find shakes I like, get my pre-op labs done....aaahhh! Time is just going too fast but that is a very GOOD thing! I work nights so by the time I come home and sleep one day of work takes up two days... it makes time fly by! A HUGE good luck to you and I'll be praying you get scheduled ASAP! I've been looking for a buddy with a date around mine so let me know if you get scheduled anytime around July 16th! :)

Staying around keeps you accountable. No lie...almost every large regain post I've seen (and really, I've only seen a handful in something close to four years) is someone who was not active here at all. They were out there living life and struggling but not sharing it or forcing themselves to be accountable by talking about it here.

I'm guilty of it myself, because when I was having trouble after the birth of my daughter I went off to my hidey hermit hole and avoided VST for a while. I spent a few days doing the mindless snacking thing and gained one pound while still having eight to lose from the baby...no big deal, really, but it goes to show how easy even those of us that have worked very hard at breaking habits and changing our lives can slide in times of stress or anxiety.

Being addicted to VST is far less painful than being addicted to french fries. I'll take this addiction any day. :)

I wasn't too worried about my surgery but being on here helped quell some of the anxiety I had from the wait and just wanting to get the VSG done. I learned a lot and felt more prepared going in.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
