Thank you!!! That's where I was confused. I will definitely ask for this to be done. I'm so confused so maybe this will confirm my concerns! If rather it be this instead of doing more trouble shooting...ugh

Until your next appt I would do a complete cleanse so that can be ruled out. If you're constipated you need to .. Well unplug yourself. To do so never hurt anything, plus it may answer questions. Being backed up into your intestines can mimic gallbladder issues so why not start with something easy :D

If it's not that then they'll have to run more tests but I'm sure your doc will go over that with you. The HIDA scan is temporarily (minute or two) painful and makes you feel like you're going to vomit IF there is an ejection problem. So you'll know that if it becomes painful with severe nausea after they inject some medicine in your IV then you have a gallbladder issue. Just wait for the test to finish and your doc to get the results and go over them with you.

Oh and I'm curious.... is the back pain up between your shoulder blades or a few inches below that, right in the middle?

A couple inches below....but right in the middle.

I've had no such luck going to the bathroom. I didn't go for a week and then it cane all at once. Now it's been another week and I haven't gone yet again despite plenty of fluids and Chia seeds and suppositories and laxatives. I'm gassy but no poop :(

Still having right sided pain. I just started my job at Exxon so I can't take off for a doctors appointment...frustrating!!! The trainers are like boot camp sergeants! A soon as I can I will get to my doc :(

Any gallbladder issues will cause constipation....try different laxatives. Go to CVS/Walgreens and go to the pharmacist and let him/her know what you've taken and ask for a suggestion for a different laxative.

The pain in your back is consistent with a malfunctioning gallbladder. So is the pain on your right as long as it's in your upper abdomen. The lower right abdomen has the appendix.

Try this until you can get to the doctor:

-eat low fat

-don't over eat

-limit or omit caffeine

-watch for foods that trigger the pain, like eggs, red meat, buttery foods...

Good luck hon, and if you do ever get it checked out let me know how it turns out!

I would definitely push for a HIDA scan if the pain doesn't go away. I had to go through all those tests before my doctor would do the scan -- all tests came back okay -- but the HIDA showed 0% functioning and only then was my gallbladder removed. I had no stones.

So glad someone else knew what I was taking about! People usually don't realize that the gallbladder can malfunction without stones. :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
