tinfoil_heroine 19 Posted June 21, 2013 Hi, all...this question is actually for a friend of mine. She's just had her gallbladder removed, and is having a lot of the same issues I had when I was first sleeved (I'm over a year out, and pretty much back to 'normal', and know my own limits as to what makes me uncomfy, etc. I know sometimes sleevers have their GB out at the same time...do any of you all have issues like this, and any advice for her, such as which foods are really super to be avoided after GB removal?? MizzouGirl 148 Posted June 21, 2013 I've learned that eggs after GB removal are not pleasant.
kimmysmash 2 Posted June 21, 2013 Could you elaborate on the issues she's having? My gallbladder was removed Jan 2011 and sleeved 04/30/13. It took a while for me to return to a normal diet after gallbladder removal because my appetite changed and foods I once loved repulsed me. I remember eating a lot malt-o-meal, biscuits and gravy, and Soup afterwards. Watch out for high fat foods like Mexican (yum, yum) Super greasy and high fat foods would be have me running to bathroom in no time. Two weeks after removal the “gallbladder attack” symptoms returned (uncomfortable, hard to breathe, chest felt heavy) and it turned out I had some leftover stones remaining in the bile duct that had to be pushed out. tinfoil_heroine 19 Posted June 21, 2013 She says that anything with any grease is causing stomach upset, dairy products, especially cheese. Her best bet is apparently Asian cuisine (which is weird for me cause that's my worst). She said that she was throwing up a lot after eating something overly greasy last night...
