I was three months out when I had my first drink and it didnt take much at all. You have to be careful drinking you get drunk super fast. Since it don't break down in stomach and goes strait into intestion. You absorb it instantly.

Sleeved on 11/7 & doc gave approval to drink wine on new yrs eve. 1/2 glass of wine had me pretty tipsy. So be careful.

My doctors paperwork says 4 weeks, but he told me its empty calories so choose wisely. Honestly, I haven't drank in almost 2 years because I was pregnant then breast feeding for a year, so I'm in so rush to start. I'd try it at home first, you don't want your big night out to be running and puking or having diarrhea.

Oh, and a lot of people say that they drink vodka with crystal light or something, to limit calories

I waited 7 months, I had 2 sips of wine on Mother's Day and felt woozy -- I haven't had a drink since.

Lol I'm going to be an in demand date! Haha I tried a baileys shot as a test run tonight and felt fine. I thought that was a nice smooth drink to try first off .. I'm not going to get trashed - I'm not a big drinker. Just want to loosen up for a boogie on the dance floor - thanks guys for all the input! x

My surgeon allows alcohol 3 months post-surgery. I have had cocktails about 3 times since surgery (all on vacation) but always limited to one, due to calories etc. The alcohol affected me the same as it did pre-surgery. I would go with your surgeon's recommendations.

4 weeks for me. Took me forever to finish my glass of wine buy I enjoyed every last drop of it! It was good to feel "normal" again. I'm now 2-1/2 months out and have a glass (or 2) of wine once or twice a week.

I was 8 weeks post op. It took me 4 hours to finish a glass of wine. I was fine with it...didn't want to get sick. But make sure you have heartburn meds on hand ;)

My dr says 4-6 months! But thats not going to happen lol ... I'm not worried about the calorie intake really - I want a night out after being a hermit all year to save for the surgery, and now it's time to get out and have some fun! I will take it easy tonight and probably won't go out again for a while. I don't drink wine or beer ever so it's only when I go into town, just wondering people's experiences they've had 8 )

I like that you started this post! I want to be real with this surgery. Not an alcoholic, but I still want to enjoy life occasionally. 'Cause, heck, otherwise, why live it? Thank you for the question!

Haha yes what's the point in having all our confidence back if we can't go out and enjoy it! I might be singing a different tune tomorrow but I'm going to give it a go lol I'll let u know how it goes and what I had 8 )

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
