rollargirl 210 Posted June 21, 2013 When did people first have a drink and what was it? I'm 6 weeks and dying to go for a night on the town and try a drink ... Thanks
bwatts13 102 Posted June 21, 2013 I was three months out when I had my first drink and it didnt take much at all. You have to be careful drinking you get drunk super fast. Since it don't break down in stomach and goes strait into intestion. You absorb it instantly. 1 rollargirl reacted to this

JessicaAnn 564 Posted June 21, 2013 When did people first have a drink and what was it? I'm 6 weeks and dying to go for a night on the town and try a drink ... Thanks My doctors paperwork says 4 weeks, but he told me its empty calories so choose wisely. Honestly, I haven't drank in almost 2 years because I was pregnant then breast feeding for a year, so I'm in so rush to start. I'd try it at home first, you don't want your big night out to be running and puking or having diarrhea. 1 rollargirl reacted to this
JessicaAnn 564 Posted June 21, 2013 Oh, and a lot of people say that they drink vodka with crystal light or something, to limit calories
FeeIsMe2 508 Posted June 21, 2013 I waited 7 months, I had 2 sips of wine on Mother's Day and felt woozy -- I haven't had a drink since. 1 rollargirl reacted to this
rollargirl 210 Posted June 21, 2013 Lol I'm going to be an in demand date! Haha I tried a baileys shot as a test run tonight and felt fine. I thought that was a nice smooth drink to try first off .. I'm not going to get trashed - I'm not a big drinker. Just want to loosen up for a boogie on the dance floor - thanks guys for all the input! x 1 Lilechka reacted to this
TES 858 Posted June 21, 2013 My surgeon allows alcohol 3 months post-surgery. I have had cocktails about 3 times since surgery (all on vacation) but always limited to one, due to calories etc. The alcohol affected me the same as it did pre-surgery. I would go with your surgeon's recommendations.
CoreyCan 95 Posted June 21, 2013 4 weeks for me. Took me forever to finish my glass of wine buy I enjoyed every last drop of it! It was good to feel "normal" again. I'm now 2-1/2 months out and have a glass (or 2) of wine once or twice a week. 3 rollargirl, MrsPierre and Molly3 reacted to this
KristyNicole 11 Posted June 21, 2013 I was 8 weeks post op. It took me 4 hours to finish a glass of wine. I was fine with it...didn't want to get sick. But make sure you have heartburn meds on hand 1 rollargirl reacted to this

I'm not worried about the calorie intake really - I want a night out after being a hermit all year to save for the surgery, and now it's time to get out and have some fun! I will take it easy tonight and probably won't go out again for a while. I don't drink wine or beer ever so it's only when I go into town, just wondering people's experiences they've had 8 )

I want to be real with this surgery. Not an alcoholic, but I still want to enjoy life occasionally. 'Cause, heck, otherwise, why live it? Thank you for the question! 2 megancd and MrsPierre reacted to this
