Do u wear tampons? ...I would think to just stick one up there and it won't be an issue for the person putting in the catheter. ..just dont forget about taking it out after surgery
abranewme 98 Posted June 20, 2013 BUMP my Aunt Flo is on now and I predict by surgery she will be gone BUT WHAT'S IF SHE'S NOT?!??? Will they reschedule?? Catheter question... GOOD ONE!!! ^^^^ help?!?!
JessicaAnn 564 Posted June 20, 2013 These nurses/surgeons see blood and guts and gore all day.. I doubt your period will bother them! 3 FeeIsMe2, MrsPierre and Emilysmom reacted to this
kchristian 64 Posted June 20, 2013 they won't reschedule. I was on mine during my surgery. They just give you those big ol' maternity pads and stick giant cloths on the bed under your rear end the one thing that freaked me out at first was that the bleeding started up again heavy once I had the blood thinner shots - so don't wig out if that happens to you! 2 breederb and abranewme reacted to this
sleeve_sister 110 Posted June 20, 2013 Don't let this bother you. The people in the hospital deal with it all the time. It's no issue for them, so don't let it get you down. You'll be medicated and won't care at that point. Enjoy your last few day's as your "old" self so you can be the best you can as new. Good luck to you! 1 Emilysmom reacted to this

Fixerupper 335 Posted June 20, 2013 For many of us surgery brings it on for some reason so if you didn't have it going in you'd probably get it in the hospital anyway. 1 Emilysmom reacted to this
ShrinkyDinkMe22 376 Posted June 20, 2013 Do you know for sure your getting a cath? Not all doctors use them. But no big deal I would just use a tampon and let them know. Should not interfere with the cath or surgery. Good luck and stop worrying!
Emilysmom 41 Posted June 21, 2013 yes unfortunately I am getting a catheter, yuck! but thank you! I had presurgical testing this morning and they were not concerned..even though I am a wreck LOL
PGee 318 Posted June 21, 2013 When I had my gallbladder removed, my Aunt Flo left the night before......yay, no worries! But when they wheeled me from recovery and helped me to bed, there were big quilted pads on the wheelchair.....I guess Aunt Flo forgot something and came back during surgery..........it was a little awkward, but after 5 seconds, I was over it...........like others said, they deal with this all the time, it was nothing to the hospital staff.....they acted like this was no big thing, happens all the time.....so don't worry about. Good luck on Tuesday!
