lynndtt 21 Posted June 20, 2013 Had my sleep study last night but didn't get hooked up to a CPAP during the night. Does this automatically mean I don't have sleep apnea? I don't go back for my follow up until July 9th and I am curious to know. Anyone who has had a sleep study please let me know if you were not hooked up to a CPAP but still have sleep apnea. joatsaint 2,814 Posted June 20, 2013 My sleep study was in 2 parts. 1st visit was to measure how many times I stopped breathing - I was covered in those little sensors. 2nd visit, I was covered in the sensors again and had to use the CPAP machine. That visit was to fit me for a mask and calibrate the machine.

joatsaint 2,814 Posted June 20, 2013 I was there 2 different nights. I had to sleep both nights. 1st time to measure how many times I stopped breathing. 2nd time was to wear the mask and tweak the air pressure settings. I did them both on Friday nights, that way I could get up Sat morning and not have to worry about going to work the next day.
