6 weeks post tomorrow - Stall Question

Recommended Posts

So at 3 weeks I hit the stall. I lost a total of 29 lbs in that 3 weeks, but since the stall I've only lost 2 lbs. Iim not gaining anything. 'm really watching my carb intake and making sure everything I eat has lots of Protein. The only thing I struggle with is that I can eat everything. Pasta, bread, etc. not a lot mind you - but maybe 1/2 cup whole wheat pasta and 1/2 slice of Dave's Killer 21 Grain bread. I'm rarely going over 900 calories a day and getting plenty of walking and exercise every week.

My questions are:

Is this still the stall? Or could it be my calorie intake?

How long do stalls last? This will be 3 weeks now! I'm starting to get discouraged.

Is there anything I can do to kick off the weight loss again?

Thank you!!!!!!

Not the bread and Pasta together at the same time - but in separate meals. Haha

Stalls just seem to happen.

I hit one at about three weeks that lasted two full weeks. I lost 15lbs the first three weeks. Eventually the stall just started moving again and at eight weeks, I'm 31lbs down.

I can eat anything too. Except beef still kind of bothers me. But I've had wine, chips, ice cream, Pasta, etc. obviously not all on the same day but I so indulge once in a while (that's the whole reason I got this surgery!).

I've been doing kickboxing twice a week and am adding bootcamp in this week too. Along with 30 minutes to 1 hour of walking a day. I've steadily lost 2-3lbs a week since that stall.

Just keep moving, keep your calories and carbs low and it'll eventually move again. I usually eat 1200 calories a day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
