Collarbones

Recommended Posts

I have some. I never knew I had them, though of course they must have always been there but now, they let themselves be known! I love them, even though they freak me out a little.

I reach up to scratch an itch on my neck or rub my moisturiser in or adjust my bra strap and BOOM! I hit a W/T/F moment as my hand hits this weird, large, protruding bone! I haven't gotten used to it yet. I LOVE how I can see them now when I look in the mirror even if I am still unprepared for when I feel them sticking out like they do. Like they are meant to.

An unexpected little NSV. Collarbones. I can sit here and play with them :-)

It is also quite exciting the first time you look down and see your own feet, lol!

I am going thru the same thing! I think I am the only one who sees then though! I fix the neck of my shirt or strap and feel something hard there. even a "hollow" spot! I can't wait till they are even more noticeable.

This is silly, but I almost obsess over my collar bones now. I love to wear a shirt where they show. It is just a visual reminder of how far I have come!

Back in my smaller days .....I loved to show off my collarbones because it was literally the only bone people would ever see unless I had a severe open fracture with my bone protruding out. :)

I love my collar bones but my wtf moment was when I hit my hip bone with my wrist. I looked up thinking something was resting there like a book or whatever. I realized what it was and just sat there not really comprehending it. Then I got the biggest grin! Now whenever I lay on my side I'm always touching them lol!

Seeing my collarbones is actually on my list of one of the things I am most excited about in regards to losing weight & they way I look. I'm glad to see I'm not alone in the thrill!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
