mrsreyes 24 Posted June 19, 2013 He had me fill our a paper with tons of questions. It said it was a personality assessment. He asked about my family.. My kids and husband. Asked about health problems, and brief family history. Why I want the surgery. It wasn't bad at all. Sent from my iPhone using VST
NewAshes 232 Posted June 19, 2013 Do they ask about diet history again?
NewAshes 232 Posted June 19, 2013 My first dietician and psychologist appointment is this Monday
mrsreyes 24 Posted June 19, 2013 He just rambled off a bunch of diet programs an pills and if I had tried one I just said yes. That was it. Their job is basically to say yes, you are mentally stable and are having the surgery for the right reasons or no you're not. And from there they make a decision to clear you for surgery from a mental health stand point or say surgery isn't the right choice for you at this time. NewAshes 232 Posted June 19, 2013 Do you think they could decide to say no just because I have not tried a lot of diets? I've only tried about 6 diets well one was sensa and the other was a pill but I'm worried they may want me to keep trying
Kami63 215 Posted June 19, 2013 The psych usually wouldn't make that choice if you need to try more. Answer the questions honestly. They will want to know your reasons for getting the surgery are sound. Mine asked me to describe the surgery I was getting in detail including how long I will be on liquids after surgery and what the most I will Ever be able to eat is. Luckily I had done all my research
mrsreyes 24 Posted June 19, 2013 No, the psychologist shouldn't be the one to say no based on the diets you have tried. He is not a MD. They want to make sure you are mentally stable. Sent from my iPhone using VST
