Breaking a bad habit is really hard. In order to be successful with a new stomach we all must break old habit. I have been a grazer my whole life. I can remember as a kid how I was forced to sit at the dinner table for hours until I finished all my food. The rules of the sleeve limits you to three meals a day which has been painful for me. While at work I'm fine but at home has been more challenging. Ive started blending crystal light and ice in a blending and eating with a spoon to satisfy my need to graze.

What habit has been the hardest for you to break and how did you cope with making the change?

Am trying to quit smoking for my surgery and for my overall health. I have found that the e-cigarette has been really helpful. It has less nicotine than the patch or the gum, and I can transition from the low nicotine to no nicotine at 10 days out (3 more days) - I thought that this would be the hardest thing I will ever do - but I think the sleeve will be harder

The sleeve will having you tapping in to power that you didn't even realize you had.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
