How does a sleeve twist if its part of your connected stomache?

That's something that i must ask my Dr, because i don't have the answer for you...

That's what i was told in the hospital, and with you not being here to show you its hard to understand.

That's scary! I was just curious because I am also a revision patient!

My doc said that it was pure dumb luck and that it happens to 1 outta ecru 100 patients

My doc said that it was pure dumb luck and that it happens to 1 outta ecru 100 patients

And he also said out was nothing that i did wrong... I told him that i tried to skip the puree stage, and he said that it had nothing to do with that

Just wondering for all those july sleevers' date=' how much are u all able to eat now???[/quote']

I am able to enjoy small meals. dinner last night was about 3 oz broiled flounder with 1/4 baked potato and a small salad.< /p>

Breakfast was a Protein Shake (30 grams). lunch today was 1/2 a quinoa black bean burger with 1/4 cup of Soup. Dinner tonite will probably be split pea soup.

I haven't found anything that I can't enjoy in small bites, chewed thoroughly.

My husband isn't as fortunate. He's fine with homemade meals but gets sick routinely when we eat out.

I'm at the point now where I can eat 4-5 oz pretty comfortably. I can eat an entire can of tuna without an issue which is great considering it's 20 grams of Protein. :) I usually do a shake for breakfast as my stomach seems really tight in the AM. I'll eat one scrambled egg and feel like I swallowed a boat. I also haven't found anything that I can't enjoy in very small bites either, except for bread. I made a mistake and had a bite of a burger and the bread did not sit well at all. My fault, though. My surgeon told me no bread until 6 months and I didn't listen, so my fault totally! I'm still losing at a rate of 1-3 lbs per week. I've also upped my cardio this week to see if that will speed things up. If not, I'm still okay with being a "slow loser". I'd just like be at least down 120 lbs by next September for my wedding. Fingers crossed! I'm down almost 55 lbs and was sleeved July 22nd. I do get frustrated at times when I see ppl that were sleeved around my date losing quicker, but it's alright. They say losing slower is healthier in the long run anyway so I try to stay positive about it.

Okay. I'm three months out. My hair is shedding like crazy and my blood work looked okay but low in Iron. I lost 17 lbs the first month 10 lbs the second month and maybe around 5 lbs this last month. I'm squeezing into size 18s but 20s are huge on me. I haven't been working out or eating the way I should all the time and it's my fault I'm not losing like I should be I admit it but I'm working to change that. I am trying to stay around 1000 calories each day and actually food journaling. I walked for 25 minutes on my treadmill and found some other exercises I like to do. I am down about a total of 46 lbs since starting this journey and I'm not ready to throw in the towel so I'm asking for some inspiration. I feel like I let myself down to soon but I don't want to give up. Please let me know how everyone else is doing. :)

My hair is shedding like crazy too! I still have enough hair on my head to make about 3 wigs, though. lol. I really don't mind shedding cause my hair is super thick but I hope I don't end up with bald Patches like some people do. If you feel your loss is slow maybe you should get together with your NUT and have them look at your daily menu's to see if you're going wrong somewhere. 46 lbs is still a lot of weight to have lost in 3 months, be proud of that. This journey is not easy and staying on the wagon is extremely difficult. I was in a stall for about 2 weeks and I went back to basics for a week and it broke my stall. Maybe you should try that and see how your body reacts. Maybe you're taking in too much sugar or eating food that are not high in Fiber. There is something that a lot of ppl do also that keeps the metabolism going and keeps your body from getting used tot he same routine and it's called "Carb Cycling". A lot of people are finding them are losing faster when doing that. Good luck and hang in there!

I was sleeved on 7/18. I'm down 64 lbs. Exercise is a challenge but joined a fitness challenge at work and it helps. My weight-loss stalled for a while. My doctor admonished me about not getting enough Protein. Since I committed to a Protein shake (30 grams) every morning, the weight really started coming off. I don't count calories but I do eat very healthy. Very low fat and low carb. But a glass of whole milk every night to avoid Constipation And I have a treat every few days...a few M&Ms or a mini candy bar.

My hair has thinned out incredibly. I'm taking Biotin and waiting for it to come back. In the meantime, a good volumizing mousse and texturizer are camouflaging it pretty well.

Good luck and stick with it!

My hair is shedding too. I am just trying to up the Protein and taking Biotin. As long as it looks decent I will be ok. Now if I start to look mangey I may freak out about it. As far as eating goes, I can eat anything. Nothing has seemed to affect my tummy in a negative way. Which is sometimes a bad thing. I find that PMS takes over and I tend to eat "bad" foods those fews days but really what woman doesn't crave something during that time. Now instead of a candy bar then 2 more because of guilt I eat a funsize, small amount, of whatever and I am good. Other than that I can stay on track because the cravings are not really a problem otherwise. I have never tracked my food and have always allowed myself a treat within moderation and the rest is fuel (i.e. healthy and balanced). I made a promise to myself before surgery that I would never beat myself up again over food. Living my life that way and having a better outlook when it comes to food, heck life, has been the best thing for me and has kept me sane. 46 lbs in 3 months is an awesome accomplishment and don't let your self doubt take that victory away from you! You still have a tiny little tummy in there that can only hold small amounts of food! Use that tool and just get back on track. This is a life long commitement and your little tummy isn't skipping out on you because you haven't been eating as you should. So don't skip out on yourself. Hang in there and know we all fall the wagon so to speak. You seem like you are off to a great start! 46lbs ain't nothing to sneeze at! You got this!

I want to try do do liquid days and I have started to read about this "carb cycling" and I like the idea behind it so I'm going to start that tomorrow! Thanks for the idea! :) I also wanted to ask everyone, how often do you feel hunger? I feel like I can be fine for about 2 maybe 3 hours and then I start to feel hunger. Sometimes it will just hit me hard like I have to eat right now! I try to drink Water constantly and sometimes when I feel like I'm getting hungry I will drink Water to make sure I'm not just thirsty and it will help but not always.

How long do you wait to drink after eating? My dr said if you drink too soon, your sleeve will empty faster. They recommend waiting 60-90 minutes after eating to drink fluids.

I still feel hunger just not the way I did before surgery.. it's never extreme but it does occur. I was hoping I'd n ever feel that feeling again but really, most people seem to feel some sorta of physical hunger after surgery. A lot of the time too, it's head hunger. We got fat for a reason and that feeling of wanting to eat all the time doesn't leave us. Also, are you taking an antacids? Stomach acid can mimic the signs of hunger especially if you have an abundance of stomach acid.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
