I took a walk with my chihuahua last night and he got tired first! Little brat just sat down- like he was saying just carry me. Lol! I cant stoop and pick him up yet tho. We were standing in the street having a little argument. Finally got him to walk home with me. So I think treadmill is what I will have to do. That way he can sit in his blanket and sleep. :D

I was sleeved on July 31. I did really well w my surgery, food progression to this point, pain, etc. except...I got overheated a couple of days and now I have heat exhaustion. It is reallllly hard to get ahead of when you can only sip water...I'm curious...how long does it take you to drink 4 or 8 oz of liquid at this point. Maybe I am being too cautious??? I don't want to spring a leak!

I have had problems with drinking. It doesn't take me long at all. Drink at whatever pace you are comfortable. What did your doctor say?

Hmmm...I really haven't had problems drinking...I am just having trouble I guess, with my own mental picture of what my sleeve can hold. I really need to be chugging Water at this point...and these sips through out the day are making it hard to recover from heat exhaustion...

I guess I am having a hard time asking my question...am I going to cause a leak drinking 8 oz, then 8 oz, then 8 oz...I need to be continually guzzling at this point and am not sure how long it takes my stomach to empty?

Oh, and I was at dr yesterday, and left with plenty of instructions about how to make sure I was getting my water/fluids, worry more about fluids and Protein right now as opposed to diet, etc and I drank, drank, drank, albeit a little slowly...and it wasn't until this am my symptoms seemed a little better...and now they are coming back...it's kind of hard to get caught up Fluid wise-once you get behind! Watch out for high heat, folks!

I can drink 8 oz in like 15 minutes. I was sleeved 7/29. I don't have to sip much I can almost take a normal drink and it doesn't hurt at all. I can easily get my fluids and Protein in finally.

I was sleeved on the 31st also and I drink approximately 12-20 oz in an hour. I always was a drinker of fluids before my surgery as well though.

I try to look at it as getting rid of fat cells. That is an idea however by 7 I still need to drink 20 oz.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
