KitKat40 100 Posted July 11, 2013 I am up getting ready to go to the hospital. My diabetes is my major worry all day yesterday praying not to get low blood sugar and could not take my insulin so had to be concerned with high blood sugar. As it turned out I stayed normal to little higher but not dangerous levels. Diabetics heal slower so I packed for a few days in case. Wish me luck I am at 9:00 AM May God bless you with an eventful surgery !! I'm right behind you !! 10am
StarryNight 20 Posted July 11, 2013 Hi folks! I got sleeved on July 2nd (wow, besides my Mom, you're the only ones I've told that to, feels weird!). I have been perusing the threads here since a couple days after surgery, but only just joined today. I am down 15 pounds from my 3-day pre-op clear liquid diet. Feeling pretty good, now that I'm on soft foods, I don't have a prob getting in my Protein, but a little tougher to get all the liquid everyday, but not too bad. I still have level 7-8 pain in my side about 2" below my big incision, which is a killer when I don't time my Meds right. :/ Can't wait for that to go away. Big bruise on the skin too. Question: Who else feels momentary uncomfortableness whenever swallowing anything? It goes away immediately, but it's with every sip/bite that goes down. Want that to go away too! Good luck to all of us! Goooooooo July Sleevers! 2 kw2walker and KitKat40 reacted to this
nmck 68 Posted July 11, 2013 Had my surgery approximately 9am. I'm up, sitting on a chair for the second time today. Did a little walk. I feel pretty good considering.. A little stomach pain, but they say it's expecting. And I'm very tired! Thought I'd update you guys Amanda, thanks for the update! Great to hear you're feeling reasonably OK the day of. Hope it's a breeze from there!

sheilsy 6 Posted July 11, 2013 july 9th sleever - im 2 days post op now! felt NO nausea at all!! (knock on wood) pain is about a 3, and my cuts are starting to itch, which means they are healing! I couldnt eat anything for first 24 hrs, but i found out my doctor didnt want to do the swallow test, so i was able to go straight to the clear liquids! im on full liquids now for 2 wks, then pureeds for another 2 wks. so far, ive been drinking Water, Protein Shakes, Jello, tea, pudding, will have some potato Soup tonight. Biggest discomfort - after drinking, it feels like my throat gets blocked and nothing can go down, then it passes and i take another swallow, then the fullness comes again. its an ongoing battle, lol. good luck to everyone going this month!!! 1 nmck reacted to this
