clothes that don't fit. .yet

Recommended Posts

I have one of those friends that has really nice clothes. she wears them once or twice and then gives them to the good will. she's smaller than me and I asked her when she was cleaning out a closet last time to give me her clothes and they are all adorable and most have tags on them but they're all like a size 9. ( I'm a size 20/22) so I hung them up and I can't stop looking and dreaming of the day I will be able to fit into these adorable clothes, it's a great inspiration for me!! My surgery is in 3 weeks :-)

I'm just so excited because I despise clothes shopping. I only have about 3 stretchy pants that I can actually fit into other than a few scrubs. And that goes for shirts too I really don't have much of a collection of clothes that I can wear right now. Hurry up sleeve lol!!

Same here, I hate clothes shopping or just looking for clothes to wear for today. Especially since today is my first visit with doctor. And he tells me when I will have my surgery today!

Nice friend to have! I too have a closet full of small clothes from when I was banded. It wasn't too long ago so hopefully not too out of style. Either way it'll feel great!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
