Yes! I use the nutri bullet, and you always are supposed to put in 1/2 greens and 1/2 fruit (then add Protein powder). The fruit covers the taste of the greens. Try mild tasting greens too, like baby spinach. I like to add a little avocado for creaminess. You can also add splenda to sweeten, or a prune or two will also sweeten it. I have felt sooooo much better since I started doing these shakes! Try googling "nutri bullet recipes" there's tons online.

Best of luck!

OMG...I just got the Nutri bullet too... lol I paid enough for it so I will drink a green smoothie even if it kills me lol

I make a killer chocolate Peanut Butter banna Protein shake.... but everytime I make a green smoothie ... I wave my fists in the air and yell " Why must you taste like Grass " yuk..... Then I watch Doctor OZ and his smoothies taste like Grass too.... lol

I will try putting avacados into it like you mentioned and I might do a 50/50 spinach , lettuce just to break up the taste a little... I never thought to sweeten with some prunes.. I will try that too, because it helps with Constipation lol.. ok thanks for the great ideas, I will try that next time sounds good....

By the way in case you are interested, you can make it in your nutri bullet.

Killer chocolate Protein Shake recipe

1/2 banna

8 oz of Low Carb Milk or Almond Milk

1 scoop of Jay Robb Chocolate whey Protein powder

1 tbls of Hershey's cocoa natural unsweetened

1 tbls of powdered Peanut Butter (company that makes it is Bell Plantation) called PB2

4 ice cubes....... try this it is to die for......Yummy

I found that I had to adjust the ratio of greens to fruit over time. I probably started at 70% fruit and 30% greens. Now I am the opposite but it took time. Mild veggies like spinach, kale and lettuces are a good choice. I also find that I have to let my smoothies sit for awhile, Sleevie does not like all the air/foam in them when first blended.

I consume a green drink every day. And yes, they taste like grass. To remedy this, I always add in a little bit of pineapple coconut Water Enhancer and the taste comes out a million times better. For 10-12 ounces of green drink, it only takes a few squirts. The brand I like to use is Dasani Water enhancer. I typically uses green drink like green vibrance, so has about about 80 different veggies, fruits and herbs. The alfalfa is always the "grass" taste for me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
