I'm on day 9 of pre-op liquid diet have not cheated and I haven't lost anything I'm being sleeved this Friday. Some days I only had 2-3 shakes instead of 5 maybe my metabolism slowed down because of that :( I feel like I lost bloat and Water but my scale stayed the same not happy:( I didn't exercise it was hard enough just not to eat . Anyone else in the same boat??

This sounds like me to a 'T'. I am on day 5 of my pre-op with 5 more to go and I weighed yesterday so excited to see my progress...Well, I have only lost 1 lb and I was so discouraged last night!!! I have also lost the bloat but no weight. I can't wait to have surgery on Monday so I can feel like what I'm doing is actually working!

Exactly how I feel it doesn't help that I'm on low dose of prednisone and my thyroid doesn't work which makes it harder :( can't wait until Friday for my surgery either !! Maybe I'll be a few ounces lighter when my stomach comes out Lol

Sounds like your body has gone into starvation mode and is trying to hang on to all that it can. If its your surgeons orders I guess that's ths way he wants it. Hang in there

Since the primary role of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver hopefully the shakes did that even though the rest of you wasn't participating :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
