Hey guys' date=' I live in Boston and had my sleeve done recently 6/17 at Tufts. I felt it was a little disorganized but I loved my surgeon Dr. Shah[/quote']

How are you feeling? What happened with them

I'm in one FB group called "Drama Free WLS Buddies". I'm so sorry to hear of your leak--how long ago was your surgery?

I'm in that one to along with about 5 others. My surgery was 10/30 and my last 4th was 12/20

I have had no issues with Streeter so far. He does express his opinions about his choice for my surgery but oh well it's ultimately my choice.

I think all of the surgeons at Tobey are a little...ummmm...abrupt in their personal styles. I call Dr. Kruger "Lightning McQueen" because his exams/consults go something like "Heyhowyadoing, everythinggood? That'sgood, okaymakeafollowupappointmentwiththenurseonyourwayoutVrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooom!" Blink, and he's gone! 046.gif

But as one of my good friends (also a Kruger patient) reminded me, "Who cares about his people skills--you care if his hands are good in the O.R., and he is an amazing surgeon!" B)

All of the surgeons there are like that I felt the same way u did pre surgery they all lack bedside manners

Well i am glad i am not the only one to notice that. Did get a call from nurse practitioner today that Vitamin D is low but i for some reason expected that. So i went out and bought some only to find a bottle in my medicine cabinet. Oh well. I also bought the sublingual B12 because it was on sale. Need to find a Multivitamin that fits all the requirements.

Flintstones chewable Complete Vitamins fit all the requirements that I got from Stacy at St. Luke's--and they're not too expensive!

Dr. Kruger only does the leak test during surgery--I think I'm glad about that. I just hope I don't get a leak after the surgery, when swelling goes down a bit.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
