Ah0505 42 Posted June 18, 2013 Is this normal? How do I get rid of it? Gagging trying to scrape the grossness off!!! 1 Cheer Mama reacted to this
MsSarena 13 Posted June 18, 2013 Is that thrush? I think I seen someone else on here talking about that once but I did not experience this myself so I don't have any answers. Maybe look it up though to see if the symptoms are similar. Good luck! 1 Cheer Mama reacted to this
Ah0505 42 Posted June 18, 2013 Thanks! Not sure it meets the criteria for thrush but now I know what to look for just in case. 1 Cheer Mama reacted to this
piercedqt78 658 Posted June 18, 2013 It is from not eating anything solid to scrape away the out layer of cells. I used to be a body piercer and it happens after tongue piercing as well. we always suggested soft food for 3-4 days, and would warn people that they were going to have furry tongue. It won't hurt you, but you can also brush it off with toothpaste and a soft toothbrush. 2 Cheer Mama and Ah0505 reacted to this

When I looked it up just now, I don't have the symptoms, but it doesn't come off during brushing....... Maybe it's time to brush harder... 1 Ah0505 reacted to this
piercedqt78 658 Posted June 18, 2013 You might make your tongue sore if you brush harder. But without seeing it I would guess that it's from the cells building up, and not being scraped off with food, or broken down while eating. 2 Cheer Mama and mariamitani reacted to this
