MrsPierre 67 Posted June 17, 2013 Hello, I was sleeved 6/13 and I am still experiencing what I think to be gas pains in my left shoulder. Is it normal for it to last this long? I've been taking gas x and passing gas. Just a little concerned.

ChristineR 128 Posted June 17, 2013 Yes pains in the left shoulder can be from the gas. It took me almost 3 weeks to have it work it's way out. But I also learned it can be a sign of a leak. I didn't know that and when I had called my docs office about it the receptionist (who also had bypass years ago) said it was normal and things will work it's way out. so when I went in for my 2 week checkup the doc was livid that she addressed the concern with me instead of putting me through to her. I guess I could have been more aggressive about talking to the doctor but I had no idea it was a sign of a leak.

I'll go to have my drain removed Thrs and they'll look at me then. Does that seem ok?
slikchik10 85 Posted June 18, 2013 My shoulder pain that lasted that long was from my drain. 30 sec. after removal, gone and haven't seen it since. Best of luck.
