I am having a bad day! Feeling very frustrated and like a failure. I will be 4 weeks post op tomorrow. For the past week, I keep gaining and losing the same 2 pounds. GRRR Then I took it a step further and drank alcohol last night! I only ordered one shot and sipped on it for about 2 hours. I got a little buzz from it and feel like total crap today! I keep feeling like I am never going to lose weight. I have failed at every diet I have ever tried (obviously, that is what led me to the sleeve) and I am staring to think I will fail at this too! Ugh! I hate feeling this way! Definitely one of those days I would like to stay under the covers and cry myself back to sleep! For some reason, I feel like I can't get my emotions together! Anyone else have these problems/feelings???

First of all, the depression is TOTALLY normal right now - your hormones are still all out-of-whack from the surgery and you are adjusting to a radically different lifestyle. Second of all, just work your plan and keep track of everything you eat - as long as you are doing all the right things, you are just in the 3 week stall - it will eventually end and the weight will start coming off again! It happens to everyone at some point in their sleeve journey - keep the faith!

I totally get your frustration. I kept gaining and losing those same 2 pounds for almost 2 weeks, too. Then I weighed myself today and suddenly I was down 9 pounds. It's so weird the way we lose!

Hang in there girl. Keep in mind that this isn't a diet, it is a lifestyle change. None of us here got fat last Tuesday and none of us are going to be thin tomorrow. There are always going to be ups and downs and with anything in life. You are on track and doing well with your weightloss. So you tried some booze and it didn't sit well. Now, the next time someone asks that silly question on the board, you can give them some first hand experience. Don't be hard on yourself, just lock in for the long haul. The weight may come off slowly than any of us want at times, but as long as we are getting healthier and more active and are not shackled by the chains of our obesity we win. You can do this, you know it and I know it. Keep your chin up and don't stay under the covers. Get out and move around, get active, support your sleeve by rev'ing up your metabolism and burning more kcals.

You must NOT give up!!! The up and down, up and down with that same two pounds, that is EXACTLY what I did during my entire losing stage. Two, some times three pounds, up and down and then one day, it's gone. I never had a 'plateau' like some of the others, but I'd do the up and down thing anywhere from four to ten days! Ten days was the longest, I weighed every day but never let it get me down, because I knew I was following the plan. It will be fine, I promise!

I lost 18 pounds the first 15 days and then nothing for two weeks. You will lose. You cannot quit this. It is impossible. So take one day at a time and live it for what it is. The weight will come off. I am 18 weeks out and down 55 pounds.

Im almost 5 weeks out and counting post op diet ive lost a total of 27 pounds. I weighed today and gaibed 3?! It is very frustrating because im doing everything im supposed to be. I just gotta be poaitivw and itll wventually kick back up I guess!

This post is JUST what I needed to read today!! I'm in a similar situation. I was sleeved May 14, and so far, have only lost 14lbs since the morning of surgery (20lbs from my highest weight). I am incredibly frustrated to have lost so little. I decided to join a local boutique gym, which I'll be visiting today for the first time. Hopefully this will give my butt (aka metabolism) the kick it needs. It's hard not to get down when you see yourself sacrificing and not getting the pay off. But, by the same token, I remember the mammoth plates of food I would eat before and not see the immediate weight gain either. So I am re-learning patience. I wish you much luck on your journey Mystigal, and am confident you will be a great success!!

I'll chime in with my thanks too. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and the scale this weeks shows that I gained 4 pounds, and I am freaking out a bit. I really hoped for significant losses in the first month. I'm trying to stay positive ... it helps to see that I am not the only one that is frustrated.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
