Breakky dumps! ????????????

Recommended Posts

First of all, apologies for the terrible title but its necessary!

I just wanted to know if anyone else dumped after breakky? It seems it doesn't matter what I have for Breakfast I always dump. Does anyone know why or how to fix it? It's really impacting my med intake too because I feel so ill that if I do take my tablets I more often than not vomit. Every other meal is going fine it's just in the morning.

Please help!

Yes! But it's usually Breakfast then another time in the morning. I have yet to have anything solid come out since surgery. I'm almost 5 weeks out and on solid food. I had hoped it would stop when I went on solids. I have a call into my GP about it. I hope it isn't lactose intolerance. Dairy is one of the easiest Proteins for me to get down.

Yeah it's weird because its only breakky. Maybe ill talk to the dietician about it. I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow and have struggled with this since soft foods.

If you find anything out let me know!

What time are you eating? Maybe it's too early? I'm just speculating since I'm still pre op, but I've heard people on here saying that overnight their sleeves fill up with saliva and what not while sleeping, so in the morning it all gets thrown up. It's seems that a warm cup of tea or another warm beverage would be good to break up the mucus and saliva. Because if your belly is full of saliva/mucus, then you try and eat, there is no room! Just my two cents :) feel better!

I'm up at 6 and don't eat breakky until 7:30-8. I have my nexium at 6:30 and I'm supposed to leave eating until an hr after that.

Dumping isn't vomiting its dumping everything in your stomach via the other end!

Dumping is vomiting. Taking a dump is pooping in the US. :D

My NUT is one who told my about saliva/mucous overfill causing my nausea and suggested Zyrtec to dry it up. She also told me to take all my meds except my acid blocker at lunch because all my meds were like a full meal. Making the move helped a lot.

I have a cup of hot tea every morning. Then about an hour later I eat breakfast. I wonder if that might help? Also, don't force it - at this point, since you are so soon after surgery, just eat what you can. I remember going back and forth between eating soft solids and straight liquids during this time - actually now that I think about it this is when I ate tons of scrambled eggs and Soup. Honestly, I don't really remember eating much "real food" until about 10-12 weeks post surgery.

The same thing happens to me if I have dairy. Yes it is called dumping. There is a syndrome called dumping sydrome. It can happen if you eat sweets or fried food.< /p>

I'm only 1 week out but find after pretty much every meal that I need to use the bathroom several times. I didn't consider it dumping because I don't have the other symptoms associated - the nausea, sweating, palpitations, etc. I feel fine other than the fact that I need to be close to the bathroom for about an hour after I'm done with a meal. Can't wait for that to stop!

According to my doctor it is just the body adjusting and is normal. I just have to wait it out.

Interestingly this morning when the urge hit I was on the train. I ignored it because what else could I do? And it actually went away. I haven't gone #2 yet today. So maybe it is just spasms and doesn't always actually send you to the bathroom?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
