Thanks everyone and sorry for the misunderstanding! Was funny though!

I do think it is our body adjusting though as mentioned above ^^.

Yesterday I didn't go at all. Blessed relief. This morning I had a soft but formed (sorry) movement and I was pretty excited. This afternoon I had something that was basically just liquid. So it may be starting to get better but not quite there yet.

I'm sorry for the TMI but it is what it is.

It only happens in the morning, and usually only once. I actually have never brought it up-I had my gallbladder removed about 5 years ago and haven't had a normal bowel movement since.

I had my gallbladder out years ago too, but I've only had the issues with diarrhea since being sleeved. I'm used to it by now (5 & 1/2 weeks post-op); the only time I really mind is when it happens at work. We don't have private bathrooms and it can be.....embarrassing. I've been known to run from one to the other looking for a completely empty restroom! Sadly I have even learned what the least populated times are and I try to time my snacks/lunch around that just in case. I figure it's a small price to pay :)

Get some sugar free METAMUCIL..... start with a teaspoon a day in your yogurt, or Water, but you will have to drink as fast as you can..... yogurt is better, it will BIND the runs...... so it is not so watery, if watery is a word.......... good luck to all of you,,,,,, been there on the ROCK side, and it is MISERABLE too!.

I had the same problem for a few weeks post op. The biggest change that I made was to eat really small amounts for the first few hours of the day. The other meals went well.

Today, I had a major episode, the first nasty one ever. I had a bit of tuna salad that I made with light mayo. About 15 minutes later, I was crampy and had to go. About 10 minutes after that, I felt incredibly ill. Went, sat, emptied. Immediately hot, sweat pouring down my face, hair soaked. I think I even passed out for a few minutes. Woke up, very weak, and drenched. Moved back to the living room and slept for 2 hours. Scary! 4 hours later, I feel great again. I do not want to ever go through that again.

My new dietitian thinks I am eating too much fat and dumping. She asked me to try to stick to 5 grams of fat or less per meal. She gave me a few other suggestions but said to try that first. I will let you know how it goes. And yes it is still going on 8 weeks out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
