I had this done after my second son. It was awesome. One thing to ask since they are doing all these areas of Lipo and possibly forgotten is to lipo the top pubic area. They can help that too, if you think you need it. I did decide to have more children, but the abdominoplasty held up great after two more large pregnancies. No stretch marks and flattened well after. One of the best things I ever did. Be sure they are doing it under general. They tried to do it under some type of local. They had to stop and bring me back again. I had to pay for the second surgery too. That pisst me off, but the surgery results was so so worth it the second go around.

Just follow your post op instructions... in the first few weeks you will be hunched over and in some discomfort - make sure you get plenty of rest and don't do too much even if you feel well enough!

My first week post op was a walk in the park and I thought I was doing really well and over done things... I suffered for that in the following weeks.

You should be given a binder or a control garment, make sure you wear it as instructed, even if it feel uncomfortable.

I didn't have Lipo (couldn't afford it) so I can't really help you on that side of things.

However, what I can say, is keep your eye on the prize... the recovery, both physically and emotionally is a long one, but the results are worth it! I am so pleased that the apron has gone and my stomach actually resembles my age now...!

Let us know how you get on... if I can help, just shout!

Thank you...i will definitely take it easy, my husband will help me out the first week or so...i hope recovery goes well :) I know everyone heals different and even tolerate pain in different levels. I have heard nightmares and also how easy it was. All i want is to have everything go as planned.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
