Hi Cheri!!!! Trackers you can get at tickerfactory.com or choose2loose.com..They walk you right through it..

the cartoons I use my space alot and get them from the FREE graphics websites...if you google the cartoons or graphic name and add gif to the end they usally come up : ex: hellow kitty gifs and click on images..The sites usually, not always, walk you through it..let me know if it works!!!

Hi SherryW, Thanks for the eating suggestions. This is a worry for me.

To Cheri52, I am in Dennis, not toooo far. I'm waiting to be banded, too. Going to Beth Israel. Good Luck to you. Keep us informed

Nanaviv!! do you know when you go? Dennis isn't too far, but from here with the great Water divide it feels like it. I had hoped to find a support group on the cape that the Dr's. would accept they are really strict! keep us posted.

Hi cheri52, I have a few things to overcome. I am allergic to the ingredients in most Liquid Protein. The nutritionist told me about some that have a whey base and another base that I could try, which I am about to do. Also, I am waiting for insurance approval. If this all happened before mid Feb. I could be done then., otherwise my husband had made plans for a March trip to Florida. The plans were made assuming I would be done by now. So, in that case, I would have to wait until early April. To me, the sooner, the better. But I have to wait and see. I don't know anything about doctors on the Cape. The psychologist at Beth Israel did say there was a support group on the Cape. I could get details if you want. I find this forum a big help. What are your issues???

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
