katalin.e. 0 Posted December 27, 2006 Yes!, Tracyin KS... But I am bilingual, so it made it very easy for me to communicate in Hungarian. My doctor and the hospital stuff were amazing people, as the picture shows :-) A pic of Dr. Vereczkei tells a thousands words :-)

susannah 2 Posted December 28, 2006 Hi Kati, Good for you!:clap2: My grandparents were Hungarian, and came to Australia to live a long time ago. My Hungarian is very limited as we really don't speak it in the home since my grandparents have been gone. My Grandfather's name was Bela, and my grandmother was also Kati!:bananapartyhat:. Good luck with your weight loss journey. Susannah
katalin.e. 0 Posted December 28, 2006 Hello Susannah, Number of the Hungarians immigrated to the United States, Canada, Australia and many other countries, all over the globe. Too bad ... the history is not very kind to that little country and its people. I felt ... I was taking advantage of their health care system, it did not feel right to be honest with you, but I had no other choice as a self-paid. Kati is very common name in Hungary, here in the United States they call me Katie. But I still spell my name K.a.t.i., but my full name is Katalin. Béla is a nice name also. Béla originated ... I think ... from Béla III of Hungary (1172-1196). One of the most famous Béla is Bartok Béla. Bela Fleck's parents liked Bartok Béla so they named their son after him to Bela :-) I took some pictures of old Pest: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fundelupa/sets/72157594422934103/ At the time of its hayday ... a century ago..., must have been something really breathtakingly beautiful. Juliegraci, and Susannah thanks for the good wishes. Wish you the same.
