teeny1202 71 Posted June 16, 2013 I am in Plymouth Mass, having surgery at Tobey hospital in Wareham with Dr Streeter. I have done my psych eval and one if two nutrition appts. I can't say i am new as i done these steps two times prior. Have changed mind from bypass to sleeve. Meet with surgeon three weeks ago and have an appt Tuesday for pre op testing and next week for medical clearance. Thinking surgery may be scheduled for August or early September

starr1202 38 Posted June 23, 2013 I'm from New Bedford Ma and I had my surgery with Dr. Kruger he is the best I love love him. I had the first leak in Wareham I went through hell but no regrets it saved my life. I had Streeter the year before and I didn't feel comfortable with him so I backed out of it which I'm glad it happened because the sleeve wasn't in mass yet. teeny1202 71 Posted July 2, 2013 I am getting nervous and i don't even have a date yet. I start the psych classes Monday night and have my second appt with the nutritionist and another appt with Streeter on Thursday. I have had all but one pre-op test done and that is the pylori which i will do even i go in next week for my appts. This time it's actually real. I can't believe it's really going to happen. starr1202 38 Posted July 2, 2013 What's the pylori test I don't recall that one and was just wondering how far you had come last time around. I myself had done it twice as well I backed out the 1st time around for the fact that I didn't like the surgeon and it was my 1st surgery but I'm so happy I did because the sleeve wasn't around the year before I had done it. They start sending in the insurance approvals as soon as you start the classes your almost there
teeny1202 71 Posted July 2, 2013 The pylori test is the poop test. Last time around i got this far but hadn't yet paid for the class and then backed out for financial reasons. Then i was going to go to Boston medical center and get the sleeve but realized with gas and parking for every visit i should just save my money for the class and do it down here. Saw the surgeon May 20 thinking i would be a few months and he jumped me right back in the program.
lifer 39 Posted July 2, 2013 I had Dt Streeter on the 19th. I was not nauseous and had no gas. He does use a drain, though.

He took a few extra minutes to talk to me. Asked me twice if i had any questions, he even asked if i had a preference for one or two nights in the hospital. I was very happy with this appt. Now to wait for insurance approval.

teeny1202 71 Posted July 19, 2013 Well i found out today why my insurance has not received my pre OP authorization yet. Apparently my insurance requires anesthesia to clear me for surgery before insurance will approve it. So currently my file is with the anesthesia office waiting for their approval before it can be sent to insurance. I dislike all this waiting
