Has anyone experienced this? Several times a day I get this random hiccup. Never more than one, just one out of the blue. I'm a little worried about going back to work next week because they are so sudden and loud- not exactly good office etiquette....

Yes...I have them...I was told that is one sign of fullness. dont worry bout it when it comes to work cuz it is something you will have to deal with from now on, from what we discussed in our support group.

I get them all the time and it's definitely my sign that I am full and to stop eating!

That's weird because I am never eating when it happens. The last one I had, I was doing dishes, and it had been at least 20 minutes since I had had a sip of my Water.< /p>

Hiccups, some people sneeze......my nose starts running like I've eaten something spicy, but I've eaten enough is all it's telling me. Weird!!

Yes I get these "random hiccups"! It is also when I am not eating. My coworkers always giggle at me. I'll just randomly have one loud hiccup.... And we're all just like "random hiccup!" It's become a little joke with us.

random hiccup. sudden loud

DeniseM

hiccups happened all the time for me for quite awhile post surgery

mine are also loud - and i sometimes get a few in a row

where ever i am - my DH can hear me, he usually comes from a room, we look at each other and start laughing

of course we often have done that through the years

i don't know where all my fellow sleevers live, but...........

i just had a BIG hiccup - didn't you hear me

don't worry about the office

your friends will understand, and get a good chuckle

if you are around more "officials" at work- oh well, just smile and say.............

oooooop, excuse me!!!! :D

if hiccups are your only problem - God Bless you - :D

good luck to you :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
