Just keep following your doctor's instructions and the weight will come off....You may have temporarily hit a stall. Good luck!

Me too. I was a 36 BMI at my initial consult and also lost 35 lbs before surgery. Now it's seems like a I am lucky to lose 1-2 lbs a week :(. However, 3 months out I've yet to lose any hair, my skin looks great, and my surgeon says I'm doing awesome. Keep at it!

I am 3 1/2 month post op and only losing 1-2 pounds a week. I'm happy with that as I was a low BMI. I have lost 53 pounds already. 25 more pounds to reach goal. Not bad for 3 1/2 month. My only concern is my hair is starting to fall off rapidly. I get all my protein/ Vitamins and Water in everyday. I drink 10,000 mcg of Biotin. I'm so afraid of becoming bald. I don't know what else to do. Was reading up on Hair loss and most ppl lose the most within 3 1/2 month till the 8th month. I want it to stop now...!

My nurse said some people retain the fluids for up to 6 weeks. It seemed like a super long time to retain but maybe that's going on?

Thanks for all your input. Guess i'm just being impatient. Didn't get obese over night guess it's not gonna come off so easily either. I'm thankful for no more metformin and normal blood sugars. :)

Ok, so on an intellectual level I get this and agree with the hundreds of people that have told me this, including my nut. Now to the HOWEVER, ...I lost 10 lbs during the pre-op diet and I am five weeks post op now and have only lost 5 more lbs and that was in the first 10 post op days. I have been at a standstill for almost four weeks. I am tracking everything that goes in my mouth and complying with the rules with no trouble at all: Prot: 60-70, Carbs less than 35, Water at least 64,walking 30 mins, calories are between 500-700/day. I'm a band conversion to VBG with a total of 55lbs to lost. (I'll make one of those cute tracking things when I figure out how). Any more thoughts out there on being STUCK?

I'm with ya. I am 3 1/2 months post op and have had many stalls. It's hard, but just remember you aren't gaining and that's a good thing! Maybe you can shock your system with a couple of days of 1000 calories and then go back to your normal calories. I've done that and it works. That and lots and lots of water! Hang in there!

Ok, Sumsuz, I'm going to try your suggestion. Thank you very much. I'll try anything. I'll let y'all know how it works.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
