Sip sip sip. Be sure to get your fluids in and follow the guide line your surgeon recommends. I am 6 months out and loving my sleeve. It wasn't easy, I had a few sit backs because my sleeve was too tight throwing up but another upper GI was done and my sleeve was stretched and its so much better now. However, I lost weight, feel better and if I had to do it over again I would. It is worth giving up food that was not good for me anyways, especially sodas. I can't believe that I don't even crave sodas thank God!

Bowel prep, bowel prep!!

Aside from getting in all your fluids after surgery, a big common complaint is not being told about prepping your bowels. Remember that anesthesia will slow things down. If your cleared out, that'll make things much easier for you.

Best of luck!!

The first 3 days are miserable, BUT days 4-6 get significantly better... There is a light at the end of the tunnel so hang in and find reassurance in knowing that:)

You have a right to be nervous, but remember this is the best decision you have ever made for yourself and your health. The first two or three days are rough but well worth it!! Be happy kid, here comes the new you!!!

You will have moments where you think to yourself WTF did I do to myself. It's okay to feel that way but it will pass quickly.

It's not an easy journey the first few months but its worth it. It's a mental battle more than anything.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
