Alyjourneys 117 Posted June 16, 2013 Yay that is why I thought it would be better to get a HRM. I'm not really trusting the calories burned with MFP. I have to be as accurate as possible. I don't want to be over on my calories. I was also looking at the Fitbit. A lot of great reviews for that one as well as the polar.
Alyjourneys 117 Posted June 17, 2013 So I bought a Fitbit Zip and needless to say its going back to the store. I'm going with the polar. FB was saying I burned over a 1000 calories without me doing anything. Ugh.
amytug 996 Posted June 17, 2013 I think we do during the course of any normal day, don't we? I'm not sure how fitbit works. I don't count my total burner though, only actual exercise or physical labor. This weekend I want to clean out the van and I totally plan on slapping on my polar. DonRodolfo 1,416 Posted June 17, 2013 This weekend I want to clean out the van and I totally plan on slapping on my polar. I burned 1500 calories the weekend before surgery mowing, trimming, and edging my lawn! 1 amytug reacted to this

Alyjourneys 117 Posted June 17, 2013 I'm a proud owner of a polar ft4. Went during lunch and changed it. So excited. Thank you all. Ps it was reflecting those calories burned as soon as I put the battery in without me doing anything. Lol 2 amytug and DonRodolfo reacted to this

amytug 996 Posted June 17, 2013 Um. Sweat lots? Hehe You might not need the band as tight as I thought I did at first. It's loosened and it still works great. Not much to say, just get your workout on!!!

Alyjourneys 117 Posted June 18, 2013 How come my polar doesn't send the info to MFP. I linked them. Also do you feel the calories burned are pretty accurate?
amytug 996 Posted June 18, 2013 I feel it's very accurate. I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't. . When I was logging a certain work out into MyFitnessPal it said 107. When I got my heart rate monitor I did the same work out and it said 105. I do believe it works perfectly. I mostly wanted it for things like walks, C25K, and strength training. Also manual labor. I love it. I didn't know any of them synched to mfp. I wrote above that I just add my calories burned, activity type and minutes manually on the mfp phone app.
Alyjourneys 117 Posted June 18, 2013 I'm actually wearing mine all day long just to see how much I burn with daily activities. Crazy.
