What is a good HRM.

Recommended Posts

I want to buy one. Pls share.

I highly recommend the PolarUSA brand. The particular one I have is the Wearlink Bluebooth that talks to the DigiFit app on my Android smartphone. The DigiFit app talks to myfitnesspal so I don't have to enter my workouts into it manually.

Heart rate monitor. It helps tracked heart rate and calories burned.

Thanks Don. Will look into that. :)

I love my polar ft60!!! Really though, any polar brand that tells calories burned would have pleased me.

I think I may be going with them. I'm not really in a position to spend so much but do want something that can be linked to MFP.

I just enter my info manually into mfp. It's quick and easy. I wasn't in a position to spend that much either, but it was well worth it and its one of my favorite thigs. It actually motivates me to go harder and push myself.

I use the scosche rhythm I like it because you where it around your forearm it links to an iphone and works with the digifit app. http://www.scosche.com/rhythm

I have an older polar ft4 with the chest strap. The HRM is a great motivator when working out because you really push yourself. Don't trust those exercise totals on MFP it's total bs. I'm sorry but you don't burn 400 calories doing 30 minutes of gardening.

Check this out: http://www.digifit.c...ors.asp#Bundles

I have the Wearlink + on the far left. There's an iPhone version two to the right.

Something to keep in mind. Most Polar heart rate monitors talk to gym equipment like treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters, etc I believe Amy's does but mine doesn't.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
