Plastics BEFORE pregnancy?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I'm 20 years old, 5"7 and currently weigh 165 from 222 on surgery day! I'm not planning to have children in the near future, but I know I want to eventually. I am not at my goal weight yet either, but I can tell I am going to need some reconstructive surgeries after I reach that point. Has anyone had any experience with having reconstructive surgeries (mainly breast augmentation, lift, Tummy Tuck or torso lipo) and then getting pregnant afterwards? Were the surgeries worth it prior or is that something someone should hold off on if they are planning on having kids. Anyone have any advice?!

I asked the same question yesterday it seems best to wait till after having kids or youll need to get your tummy and breast redone after.

I don't think an augmentation is supposed to interfere with breastfeeding and if u get a tummy procedure, go for one without the muscle tightening so that won't complicate a pregnancy. Many have not had an issue even with the muscles done before a pregnancy but some have and you're better off avoiding that. And when u get preggo, just take good care of that skin and you shouldn't need and follow up surgeries... Fingers crossed... Hopefully at your age though, hit those weights and do those ab exercises... Drink lotsa Water and moisturize that skin. Hopefully you won't need to do much surgery wise

If you are planning on having children I would hold off on plastics. Also, most surgeons would like for you to be at or near your goal weight and maintain that for a reasonable amount of time before they operate.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
