You still have a lot of time so don't worry too much. Some say they only used BC and DL.. But that's not something I would even think about counting on. It's easy to get into MX it's getting back in to the US that can be the problem

Here in WA they won't even let us cross back and over with Canada w/o passport or enhanced license.

I think ur only allowed to use your birth cert on cruises that go from 1 US city to the same US city (regardless of countries visited). I think a passport is required to physically go across any border (whether it be Canana or Mexico). Good luck! Did u put a rush on it?

I've read about this topic before. I was going to go with just my DL&BC. Changed my mind - we're getting Passport Cards which I think take about 2 weeks. I don't want to get stuck in Mexico.

You still have two weeks. You'll probably have it by then.

I know how you feel this is my fourth week waiting for my passport and I only have 3 days left until I go! I looked online and said I should get it by Monday, the day I fly out of course. I wonder if my husband can overnight it to my hotel in Mexico?

Edited to add that mine is also only the card and not the full passport and is been 4 weeks and I have not received it yet.

I go to Mexicali at least 3x a year and every time I cross with my DL and birth certificate. I've never had any problems.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
