JessicaAnn 564 Posted June 13, 2013 I'm going to sit back with my popcorn (I'm still pre op) and watch Pandora's box open up 14 Goddardgo, ladylaura, amduc and 11 others reacted to this
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted June 13, 2013 I will be a month post op tomorrow and don't eat regular food. Personally, I love my life and my family and friends love me. I don't need to play Russian roulette with my newly sleeved tummy for a few bites of food that won't mean a darned thing to me an hour after (unless I am writhing in pain). I got this surgery to bring myself back down to a healthy weight and I am old enough (and intelligent enough) to follow my doctor's orders. That said, do what you will and enjoy! Pass me a soda and some buffalo wings, please. 24 MrsPierre, newat52, JessicaAnn and 21 others reacted to this

Miss Piggy 30 Posted June 13, 2013 Sleeved 5/28 and I have not deviated from my doctors instructions at all. Honestly I am petrified to...don't want to mess anything up. It helps that I dont have any cravings or hunger. I did cheat pre-op though. 4 belladona, mjbladybug, MrsPierre and 1 other reacted to this

MizzouGirl 148 Posted June 13, 2013 Not a chance I would do this. It won't be that long until regular food is back in my diet. I'm following my dr's orders without deviation. 1 gummykandi reacted to this
indecision 863 Posted June 13, 2013 I stuck to the plan until I hit the pureed stage after the first three weeks. When I was suppose to puree my food I stuck to only soft foods (fish was my friend!) and just chewed really well.
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted June 13, 2013 The worst thing I did was lick the seasoning off of some wheat thins during week 2. But I must say, those wheat thins were delicious. My sweet lab mix was happy to eat the evidence after I licked them. 10 Jellybeansoup, ElaineB, Googler and 7 others reacted to this
erikahdz2005 11 Posted June 13, 2013 Well I'm not saying I ate whole meals. But the most I've done is eat a couple of shrimp, some toppings off of a pizza slice(not all of it like 3 bites). A spoon of grits and oatmeal. And that's it. Chewed up as much as possible. Hopefully i m not dieing 1 diana89131 reacted to this
FindingElise 62 Posted June 13, 2013 I'm not sure what you mean by regular food. I'm 9 days post-op and have eaten some things that are pretty normal for me and that I would've had pre-op (yogurt, popsicles, hummus, cream of Tomato Soup, etc.) If you're asking who has eaten things that their surgeon and doctors do not want them to eat, I'm sure there are people who slip and eat things they shouldn't. However, the guidelines are there for a reason, and I don't think anyone here is going to encourage doing things that may harm you. If you're struggling, I hope you'll figure out some ways to overcome your struggles, and you're able to make the most of your sleeve. Refuse to make a pattern of your mistakes and move on. There are many people without insurance coverage or the ability to get financing that would feel privileged to have this surgery. Don't take your tool for granted. 4 Longie339, Francieb, SheWins1 and 1 other reacted to this

Wags 549 Posted June 13, 2013 Being honest - 13 days post op and have not "cheated" once. Too dangerous! My tummy just got sliced, stapled, and stitched and I'm not going to risk letting anything interfere with the healing! Don't do it. You're only hurting yourself. 2 gummykandi and mjbladybug reacted to this
FindingElise 62 Posted June 13, 2013 Well I'm not saying I ate whole meals. A couple of shrimp and three bites of pizza are meal sized portions for us this soon after being operated on.
