lsu2868 708 Posted June 13, 2013 I have been watching several posts here about Hair loss after the sleeve surgery. For me, it is no biggie because I shave my head. But, my wife is considering the surgery as well and is greatly concerned because she already has thin hair. Does the hair loss happen to everyone who has the surgery or just a select few? I know she can take Biotin as well as eat plenty of Proteins to help. She is really struggling with this issue. Can anyone offer some help or advice? Thanks. Rileysmama 6 Posted June 13, 2013 My hair has thinned a ton I've probably lost close to half my hair especially around the front and top of my head it's horrible, but I would do the surgery again in a heart beat I'm so happy with my weight loss and I'll just wear hats and other cute hair things til it grows back

suejersey 263 Posted June 13, 2013 I think a lot of people have thinning hair, but it is not a given that it will happen. I get my Protein, I take Biotin and I have still thinned A LOT. I am 8 months out and have heard months 6 - 9 are the worst. So hopefully I am nearing the end. They say it does grow back. In the meantime I got an adorable (if I say so myself) pixie cut that I would NEVER have considered before losing the weight I have. In the long run, having a healthy body is more important than hair, and it will grow back! Good luck to your wife in her decision! 1 bascott73 reacted to this
