katniss 1 Posted June 13, 2013 This may be a dumb question, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I had my surgery a little over a year ago and I'm wondering if getting in a lot of Protein is still a big priority, or if that becomes less important the further along you go? And if so, does anyone have any quick & easy (and especially cheap, I'm on a tight budget) ideas for getting in protein? After a year, I'm getting a little sick of the same few things I've stuck to and I'd like to change it up. I really did not like the protein powders that they recommended in the beginning, so that's not really an option for me. Thank you in advance!
GypsyQueen 198 Posted June 13, 2013 I only know the answer to the first half of your question because it came up in my pre op class. Your Protein can be reduced based on height/weight on e you reach goal, but there will always be a minimum required amount. I'm 5'3"" and my range is 63-78, but anybody my height and shorter, the minimum will always be 63g/protein. So I will be aiming for 3 oz. lean protein 3x a day to avoid shakes.< /p>
