Probably you can drink faster as soon as you are able. For many, the most they can handle is an ounce very 15 minutes at first.

I was able to start drinking bigger sips and more ounces about 1 week after surgery. From there it just got more and more. I am 3 1/2 months post op now and can chug it if I want to, but I only do a few gulps at a time to make sure I don't stretch my sleeve. :). Hope this helps.

Lol! I so understand how you feel! I'm a chugger, too! I'm only a week post-op and can already tell the difference. I can take in more, now. But I'm still really nervous about doing too much, so I don't over do it. I mean it takes me 30 min. to eat 1/4 cup of cream of wheat! That was normally 2 bites. As far as liquids, my RN told me 4-6oz. an hour. I know I have gone over that (not by a lot) and had no issues. Best of luck to you!
