Every Dr. is different. I'm also on 8th day and still on a clear liquid diet + Protein Drinks.< /p>

That's a question for your doctor...

My experience was that I could transition to "full liquids," which includes cream Soups that are strained of all chunks of anything, as soon as Day 4 post-op. I started introducing creamier things (i.e. milk) on the evening of Day 3 post-op and did fine. I see my doc tomorrow!

Normally your surgeon will tell you but everyone plan is different. Today I got cleared for cream Soups and mushy/puréed/very soft food but with low calorie limit he said preferably less than 500 until my 6 week check up.

I'm 11 days out by the way.

I'm also post-op day 8- my doctor considers cream Soups to be "full liquids" as well as pudding and yogurt. I have had some cream of Tomato Soup made with milk on Monday and it tasted SO GOOD compared to all the sweet Protein Shakes I've been forcing down, and I had some yogurt yesterday which tasted fine, but it was sweet to me. I haven't wanted to try pudding yet because of the sweetness. I've been drinking a lot of chicken broth that I made (way better than store bought) and really struggling to get in my Protein these past few days. It seems I can get in my protein and not my liquids or my liquids and not my protein.

Cream Soup gets me very ill with dumping. Be careful and introduce it slowly.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
