Kami63 215 Posted June 12, 2013 Die hard. I'm on day two of the preop diet and it has been ok today I guess. But earlier a coworker was handing out key lime pie bars and I was focused on work. She asked if I wanted one, I said yes and kept working. She set it on my desk and moved on. Well why did I say yes? I had no intentions of eating that. I just didn't think. Programmed response: Do you want (fill in the blank) YES! Ok so I did not eat that bar. I have it to a coworker who was eying it bc it was the last one. I joked and told her that I saved it for her.... I've got to stop saying yes to food. Just say NO to food 4 Lorie269, FeeIsMe2, WillInAtlanta and 1 other reacted to this
marfar7 1,533 Posted June 12, 2013 After 3 1/2 yrs with my lapband, I usually make a whole sandwich, even tho I've NEVER been able to eat more than half. Why don't I just make a half? Old Habits, you're right! Thank goodness my dog luvs people food! 1 Goddardgo reacted to this
JonathanS 75 Posted June 12, 2013 This is just one of the old habits that you will learn to break. It is amazing on this journey just how many "old habits" I have / had!

Old Habits, you're right! Thank goodness my dog luvs people food! You can still make a whole sandwich & just wrap the other half for the next day! That's what I do now just to eat a half sandwich for lunch. The next day, my lunch is already made! 3 notmeanymore, natedog51 and ShelPrice reacted to this

I think its awesome when I order an appetizer at a restaurant and I can have it for 2 or 3 meals. 1 Pixie Dust reacted to this
AZLatina 30 Posted June 12, 2013 Everytime I go to a restaurant I order a meal. I can never eat even 1/8 of the meal. I'm learning to order from the kids menu but even then, I still can only eat a little bit.
courtoomp 107 Posted June 12, 2013 I still order a whole meal bc I always want the fish or something off the menu but I feel so wasteful! I need to find some a la carte items!
marfar7 1,533 Posted June 12, 2013 Yeah, I always order off the regular menu too. Never have used my WLS Restaurant Card they gave me. The kids menu has crap on it usually (cept Olive Garden - there it's wonderful!). I usually eat 1/4 to 1/3 of the meal and save the rest for the next 2-3 meals. I usually get sick of it by the 3rd day tho and toss it. I am wrapping up the other halves now. My dog was diagnosed with severe food allergies so she can't have scraps anymore. Now she actually eats her dog food! I don't usually enjoy refrigerated bread tho. Thats why the dog got it most of the time. 1 NtvTxn reacted to this
Kami63 215 Posted June 13, 2013 Does anyone think pickles are a BA idea on preop. 5 calories a spear of course not fried. They are cucumbers after all. I can have two cups veggies a day...just wondering if a pickle is bad. I can call my surgeons office tomorrow too. I bet they have heard it all ...lol
