Today I have realized that I'm not even hungry and have eaten a lot less then before my fast day. I love this. Today may be my second fast day. Going to the Mountain for Thursday and Friday so I don't want to set myself up to fail. LOL Good job everyone, you've all given me inspiration.

BTW when I eat Fiber one brownies i am so gassy! can't go near them..... :)

Okay, BIG NSV and on a Fast day! Have you ever fed 50 people big, fat meatball laden with sauce and Parmesan cheese on an empty stomach? Well, I HAVE, lol. My month to feed the homeless shelter for my life group and luckily, didn't have time to even sniff them! And we ran out so there were no leftovers! (All got fed- seconds were given out). Yaay, to me! Now, where is my Lean Cuisine? And then I still have about another 150 left over to eat in a hurry since it is 7pm!

Great job Georgia! I decided to stay with the fast today. So far so good! I had a Protein Shake for lunch and I'm working on a hamburger patty left over from lasts night dinner I don't know the exact calories but I'm hoping its going to total 500 or less for the day :)

FYE good job!

And skinniness yes I'm finding I'm less hungry on regular days too. But it's nice to not worry :)

I know Georgia, I'm trying to shake it off, but I have to fight so hard for every pound lost.

I woke up this morning so bloated my whole body is swollen! Salty cheese crackers? Altitude?

Thanks for listening to my whine...

I needed someone to listen :)

I plan on packing my 59 cargirl cloths! Its road houses and casinos all the way... I plan on packing some Snacks, but I doubt I will be able to pull off a fast day... Well my first week over and down 2lb (this takes me back down to my lowest), had a busy eating weekend so I am delighted with this loss. Fast day today.

Yeah!

Well, I wasn't down anything after my first fast day of this week, so that was a little disappointing, but I wasn't up either. Then, once again, yesterday felt like a very bad day. We had a little party that we went to with tons of food, everything I normally don't eat, but it tasted oh so good. My weight held steady this morning, but I am having a hard time shaking the sugar cravings. I find the more I eat, the more I crave. Plus I am PMS'ing, which for me, makes it even harder...I just feel like I want to stuff my face!

Tomorrow is my second fast day of the week, and I am actually looking forward to it! I find I can assert much more control on the fast days. And I actually told my husband what I was doing. He was away last week when I started, so I just didn't mention it. Not sure if he is really on board, but I explained a lot of it to him, explained some of the benefits of fasting not just for weight loss but for overall health. He knows that it wouldn't matter what he said anyways because I am just too stubborn and will do what I want anyways!

It is so hard to let go of the guilt around eating isn't it? I am always so sad, even for myself, that we have spend so much of our existence feeling bad about what we eat that it is so difficult to let it go.

Try to have lots of fun on your vacation and enjoy it! Soon you will be back home and back to routine. And allow yourself forgiveness!

So Thursday... Are any of you ladies still doing Thursday? It's my normal day to fast and I might just do it because our plans of a 14 mile bike ride (mostly downhill) got cancelled because my poor husband is in bed with a stomach bug :(

I'm so out of my comfort zone. I feel like I'm I. The twilight zone right now. So much of my life has been so structured around my little sleeve world that I'm finding it really hard to let go mentally for this vacation.

Even my husband has been sending mixed messages to me.

He tells me please just forget about the sleeve and eat "normal" while we are here.

Then the next minute he's like "your eating that"

(Cheese crackers) or "how are you going to count those calories"

food, food everyday it's still about food.

Anyway it's a beautiful day in Colorado! I went out for a bit this morning.

Yesterday I rode a roller coaster type thing you take the ski lift up to the top and ride on a toboggan type thing that you control. It's funny the whole time waiting for my turn I stressed because I'm still very obese in my mind and I wondered how it would "fit" into the toboggan...

I kept looking for someone big in line so I could see how they fit. But alas everyone was small.

There was a group of obese women sitting to the side waiting for there family members that were in line. I kept starting at them knowing how they felt but also wondering if I should be on the sidelines too...

I fit, and a had a f**king awesome ride! And would of done it again if it didn't cost an arm and a leg!

Life it's weird huh?

I AM DOING THURSDAY! Half day gone and my bowl of oats eaten at 11am. Not even remotely hungry. So weird. Mind over matter, I guess.

Look at you, Laura! I would love to ride the toboggan thingy. I think. Enjoy CO.

Hey Laura- that toboggan ride looks like so much fun! You are doing so good to be out there and living life. Is tht a broken arm in the picture?? Did I miss something in one of your posts? That would be really hard to run with or do any activities with. I hope the stomach bug your husband has blows over soon. No fun!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
