Well i finally met with the surgeon today and luckily I've had all my testing with the exception of blood, chest xray and NUT consult. So in a perfect world I would be planning my surgery date....BUT.....due to a few meds I take daily( for anxiety and depression) I may be held up another three months. It seems that since I can't swallow pills post surgery I will have to crush my meds. If my meds can't be crushed then I have to try alternative meds that can be crushed. However, I would have to stay on these "new" crushable meds for 3 months to make sure they work before the surgeon will give me the green light. Anyone have this issue?

Well I take mood stabilizers and anxiety meds but my surgeon eval is at the beginning and we went over my meds. I'm prob going to switch meds for anxiety to a take as needed cause I only have social anxiety. I'm at the beginning of my 6 months so if it can't be crushed hopefully it can be worked out in my 6 months. It's a shame not every place lets you see the surgeon first and do all the tests at the beginning. It's for the best though.

I also take meds along the same lines as yours. Two of my three meds are capsules that can be opened and emptied into a glass of Water. I do take one tablet that is not extended release, so it can be crushed before adding to liquid. Hopefully your current meds are such that you won't have to wait the additional three months. Good Luck.

I'm bi-polar only one of my meds is extended release its a small pill. If I can't get it down , my shrink said there are some we can switch to. I just would have to take it more than once a day. My surgeon has all my shrink info and was not said anything would be a problem.

So glad to be reading these....I too am BP and have extended release pills....I'm just worried about being approved for surgery. A lot of the extended release pills can be switched to the regular ones and because we absorb differently they will work differently. It's just to be safe!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
