I'm only losing about 1.5 pounds every ten days.

I totally understand how discouraging slow loss is. But, as everyone kept telling me, hang in there. Keep doing the right things and the lbs will come off. It took me 9 weeks to get excited about loss then got discouraged again, but kept up liquids, Protein and calorie count and prayerfully the loss will continue to speed up. Hope this helps :)

My first appointment as on May 26th and I weighed 240.

On the day of surgery I weighed 228.

At my 6 month appointment I was 189.

I am at 10 months and am now down to 163.

I have 33 lbs to go. My doctor said at my 6 month appointment that he expected me to lose between 20 and 30 lbs. I had slowed to about 3 lbs a month. So far I have lost 26 pounds of that. However, recently my knees have stopped hurting enough that I can do some serious walking and bicycling and I have started to losing faster again. I lost 3 of those pounds in the last week.

I just saw my doctor today for my six weeks postop appointment' date=' And ask him what benchmarks they like to use. He said they like to see patients who've lost 20% of their excess weight at six weeks, and 38% of their excess weight at three months...hope that helps[/quote']

This is really interesting.Did your Dr mean the excess weight starting from the day of surgery (after the preop diet) or from the very first consultation?

I just had to accept that I will lose slower than everyone else. I really don't care that much anymore as long as the scale moves in the right direction.

Pre surgery 240

surgery date 7-16 229,

8-14 215

so I think I average 1/ 2 lb per day. Everyone else seems to do much better but I'm ok with this way now.

I'm so happy with my sleeve, down 48 lbs at week 18. I'm finally ok with only losing 1-2 lbs a week. I'm glad the scale is going in right direction! (Sleeved 4/22). post-22621-13813658812702_thumb.jpg day before surgery post-17450-13813658813251_thumb.jpg My son made me buy this red women's large T-shirt while trying to get a mens XXL. Very surprised how I looked. Praise God!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
