Fab website ... How do you see yourself?

Recommended Posts

I just found this website on Pintrest & think It's pretty awesome, It allows you to put in your height, weight, body type, shirt and pant sizes and it gives you actual pictures of REAL women who share your same numbers...

http://www.mybodygallery.com/index.html

before I always wondered how "big" I really was and would look at other women and wonder if they wore the same size as me... It's weird how different I saw myself in the mirror vs. pictures for example. Now, I am post surgery and while I know I am losing weight and people point it out all the time, it's harder for me to see when I look in mirror, I found this site to be eye opening for me...

Hope someone finds this helpful ;)

Funny they don't have any matches fit my body type

Yeah, I've been to websites like this before, I've played around with it, putting in my real numbers, putting in my dream numbers. The depressing part is when I put in really thin numbers and see the photos, and they just look average/normal. It makes me feel like my road just got extended by a thousand miles :(

Modelmydiet.com is pretty cool too. It's not real people but it's fun to play around with

Someone told me about this site recently and I think its awesome. I also encourage everyone to load their own photos so others can see.

That sucks, they didn't have any exact matches for me (apparently I am not as large around the middle as most women my weight because their pants sizes were far too large for me even though we share the same weight) but what we can do is ball park it and upload our own so people can see even more variations!

I had to get my husband to look with me as I just could not believe that the women in the pictures, my height, weight and body shape, looked anything like me. He confirmed that they did and found a couple of specific ones he thought were my body exactly. Freaked me out to be honest. Those women looked great.

It shows me just how far I still have to go in the 'head' journey.

Thank you for sharing.

Less info you put in to search with , the better chance of matches coming back. I had to list just height and weight to get matches.

Thanks for posting this. It is a good tool. I have a problem opposite from anorexics. When I look at my self front on (most of the time), I still see that 115 lb 21 year old. It's only when I look at the side that reality sets in! Ha!

FYI, I didn't notice the shape option at first. When I selected that, I didn't get any results. For those of you who didn't get results--try not picking a shape.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
