Feel so good, I tried on shorts today that didn't fit anymore and they fit. That's why its worth it. What a great feeling, I had forgot what that felt like. :)

I don't even have a date yet, and I'm anxious! LOL The gal that did my pysch eval said she'd be concerned if patients didn't have concerns before having the procedure. Good luck!

I was told the same thing at my pysch consult. I should be getting approved and a date very soon and I can tell each day I am getting more anxious. Anxiety mixed with excitment!

I think its totally normal I was thinking the same thing I didn't want to be sick and or in pain. I have to say I didn't have any of that' date=' no nausea, vomiting or pain a little discomfort but that's it. My Dr prescribed me a pill for nausea I had to take 2 hours prior to surgery he said it is prescribed for cancer patients for nausea. It helped.[/quote']

My doctor said the same thing. He gives the pill before surgery, and the IV version after, but it's the med they prescribe for cancer patients. So it really worked?

First off, thank you all so very much for replying to my post, I cannot tell you how much it helps! I sit here all 240lbs of me being uncomfortable in my own skin but yet the fear of the unknown is what is eating at me. I don't know what to expect except what I have been told and or read on here. I just don't want to spend the rest of my life throwing up or being nauseous ...I have been trying to program myself to eat smaller portions now, chew chew chew and replace my normal bacon, egg and cheese with a Protein Shake, its been tough, I wont lie but its what I need to do to start living my life..because up until this point, its been crummy! I will be thinking of all you guys on the 25th , thank you again for the support! best of luck to all of you xo

My pre-op was scheduled for tomorrow and sleeve Tues June 18. I had such a freak out today that postponed it.

I feel like such a fool.

What you're feeling is normal. We have the same surgery date. I did my pre op Monday. I'm nervous also not about the surgery itself but about my new life after the surgery.

I had a brief moment of breakdown while washing dishes and thinking about my Advance Directive (I think that's what it's called). I was thinking about having to explain to my brother my wishes if the worst were to happen and I just broke down in tears....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
