Just curious...for the vets...have any of you only lost a few pounds and did not come anywhere near your goal??

Almost 9 months out and I am almost at goal. Hoping to never go back!

I don't see how losing only a few pounds is possible. Maybe not reaching goal, but I think most get close.

I think you have to purposely try to gain to not lose. Like, constantly drink calories and eat slider foods, or eat until your stuffed all the time.

I've always worried about this too. I've failed every diet attempt, so I'm afraid ill fail at this too. But I've done sooo much research and realized that as long as you follow the basic rules, you WILL succeed :)

Thank u. Yes it has crossed my mind even though I'm still losing weight. My mom had gastric bypass 10 years ago and is still on a diet everyday. I spent a lot of money on this surgery and wouod be highly depressed if I didn't lose weight. I weighed under 200 pounds so I don't expect to lose as fast as others but I'm on my second stall in five weeks. That scares me.

I know at 2 girls here that had surgery the same month as me that have not dropped the weight both have tried and we've shared ideas together.

They were/are very committed.

One went to have the bypass done and the other one just posted last night and is still trying.

It does happen at no fault of the patient but it is rare. I would still recommend this procedure over any others.

Unless you drink nothing buy crisco and milkshakes I don't think it is possible to not lose. I still don't exactly follow things to a fault.. I will eat some things that are "bad foods" but I can eat so little that exercise negates it anyway. I'm sure other post sleevers will testify that it is much easier to make better food choices post op because you can only take in so little you don't get to the bad stuff if you start out with the good (protein)

I'm 10 weeks out. I'm only down about 25lbs from the surgery. Basically I had 3 decent weeks of weight loss (not in a row) & the rest were far slower than prior to surgery for me. I was not drinking calories, not eating slider foods & the last thing I wanted to do was not lose weight. I exercise daily & track everything that I put in my mouth. I was very careful to keep my Protein & Water intake high. My bariatric team was very happy with what I was doing & said that the weight would just eventually start dropping.. but it wasn't. So, yes.. you can be playing by the rules & not see much happening. Not sure what would have happened in the long run (and wasn't going to sit there without seeing what I could change).

Last week I changed 2 days of my normal routine & added in some higher carbs. The pounds started to move once more. I think that for my weight loss I need to have a day or 2 a week like that (using healthy choices).

I do eat very good and have followed the drs orders to a T. I've lost 18 poubds in 5 weeks so I'm not complaining JUST WONDERING.

I agree based only from my personal experience cause I've eaten all of the following in moderation, BUT I've had pizza, Panda Express Orange chicken with Steamed Brown Rice, Buffalo Wild Wings chicken Wings with Sauce (both bone in & bone out) & I didn't gain from it. I only stayed the same. So, I'm thinking that it would take quite an effort to gain a substantial amount after the sleeve. Disclaimer: AGAIN, THIS IS ONLY MY EXPERIENCE. I AM NOT PROMOTING THE food LISTED ABOVE. IT'S MY SLEEVE & MY LIFE. I ENJOYED ALL OF IT IN MODERATION & WILL CONTINUE TO EAT LIKE THIS AT TIMES CAUSE IT WORKS FOR MY LIFESTYLE.

I agree. Everyone is different. My uncle was sleeved August 2010 and dropped 90lbs by Christmas. He then went on vacation and his diet went to hell. He still has restriction, but can eat a lot more then I ever hope to. He's gained 15lbs back in the past year and a half. I mean, pre op I'd gain 15lbs in a few months, so I guess it's still kinda working for him. But it's possible to gain if you just don't try

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive).
