I have never stared at a glass of water with such hatred.

I struggle with this too and we can't get Crystal Light or Mio in Australia. There are "cordial mixes" but they are mostly sugary. The only ones that come in diet are lemon, lime, and "lemon lime bitters" flavor. I don't care for the citrusy ones. i miss the Crystal Light packets from when I was in the US. I count coffee, tea, and non-chunky Soups as liquids and I still don't get enough. It's my one struggle. It's not really that the Water tastes bad, I just forget to drink it. If only I would feel thirsty.

I am able to get it down better if I squeeze a lime wedge into a glass though. But I think it would be better if I could add some gin!

Amazon.com has a US food shop. Just an FYI!

I have found warm Water to go down way easier then cold for some reason. It feels weird to drink plain warm water but my tummy handles it much better then cold.

Yeah and Australia has very stringent food import rules. :( Because we grow a lot of food here. We are the second producer of banans and and top producer of ginger, I think. So our border patrol is extremely protective. I wouldn't even attempt to order food from the US and have it shipped here. :( On my next trip back I will stock up on whatever my suitcase can hold, though. It tends to be easier to get it in that way, especially if it is prepackaged and sealed.

What about having someone ship it you? Would that be hard to do?

What about if someone sends you a care package? Is that also scrutinized?

Hi I'm also from Australia and its lucky for me that it is our winter at the moment so although the evil Water fairy is needed it isn't as urgent as in the summer when I hope that I will be better able to cope with it... I've only had my sleeve for 3wks.

I also have found warming the Water to work better and also sucking on ice chips.... But it sure takes a great deal of time to eat and drink at the moment.... I find I am having to get up earlier to fit it all in!

That's sweet but it probably would, yeah. :( It's even hard to ship leather goods here.

I've tried it all. I like crystal light' date=' I like the ocean spay packs I bought, I even got used to iced tea (which I've always hated -- imagine THAT in the Bible Belt).

Consuming liquid is a chore and it makes me feel nauseous and burpy and bloated and gosh darn it, I've been on my period for almost 7 weeks now and I hate everything!

Phew... That felt good.[/quote']

I wish I still got my period then I would have something to blame for hating everything!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
