drinking a lot this morning.

Recommended Posts

Today is POD 5, I just woke up and started to sip the half full 20 oz bottle of gatorade G2 on my nightstand.

I quickly sipped my way through 4 oz then 8 oz and finally I emptied the bottle. That mean I was just able to sip 10 oz of Fluid in about 5 minutes with NO discomfort.

Anyone else out there that is kr was able to do this so soon? It kinda has me freaked out a little.

I'm 3 days out and wish I could drink like that! If you've got no discomfort, you may just be a speedy recoverer!!

Okay. I must admit my lizard brain went immediately to "oh no, I must be leaking all the drink directly into my abdomen". Your explanation probably is the better conclusion to jump to, oops. Thanks you.

I was just overjoyed at my ability to finish an 8oz "Mocha Proticcino" in less than an hour. Being only 3 days out, I'm sure your ability to get liquids down is just great recovery, like mine appears to be going!

FYI - Mocha Proticcino is 8oz FF milk, 1 scoop chocolate Splendor powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein & 1T instant coffee. Yum! Great change from a standard Protein shake, and the extra coating from the milk seemed to go down easier than water! My doc cleared me for full liquids as soon as I got home and is fine with caffeine - just no carbonation for awhile.

I think you're probably fine, but I totally 'get' freaking out!!!! All I have to say is congratulations, just sip, sip, sip and count your blessings!!! I had a HORRIBLE time getting enough liquids in!!

I hadI hI had almost no inflammation in my sleeve and drank 80 ounces of Fluid my first day post op. Nothing to get freaked out about.. quite the opposite, you're among the fortunate few who doesn't have to struggle with fluids. Embrace it!

I just made a chia tea concentrate shake with 8oz egg white international pasteurized egg whites, 6oz Decaf chia tea concentrate and 6oz unsweetened almond milk. OMG this is so good. That drink gives me 188 cal with 26 gr Protein.< /p>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
